As Midnight Lightening experienced rapid growth, their financial systems and reporting processes couldn’t keep up. The company was dealing with accounting errors left unresolved by a prior provider, no reliable forecasting, and a lack of structure around month-end reporting. Their invoicing and sales processes weren’t integrated with their accounting platform, making it difficult to get a clear, real-time view of the business’s financial health. Solution
We began by migrating Midnight Lightening to Xero and establishing a clean, reliable accounting foundation. By reorganizing the Chart of Accounts we were able to provide a clearer picture of the financial health of the business. Our team collaborated with their team and developed a streamlined sales order and invoicing workflow connected to their new inventory system to ensure smooth operational handoffs. We corrected historical accounting errors, built a custom financial forecast, and implemented a monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial data. To support strategic decision-making, we also introduced a recurring monthly review meeting with one of our fractional CFOs to walk through actuals vs. budget, track key trends, and discuss forward-looking initiatives.

With these changes in place, Midnight Lightening now operates with full financial clarity. Jon receives timely monthly reports, trusts the numbers, and can plan with confidence.
